TUTORIAL The Layout of your Blog

The following tutorial will cover all basics of the Layout tab when customizing a blogger.com layout. Expect no information regarding any other blogging service, head to Google (found at the top of this page) and little explanation of how to add Google AdSense. Click here for a detailed AdSense tutorial! (In future).
Your first posts are up and your blog is running fine. This part of the tutorial will help you out with the following:
  • You are a bit unhappy with the looks of your blog
  • You want to tweak things a bit
  • Add Google AdSense
Page elements
The landing page of the Layout tab is called "Page elements". This page is ideal for any blog holder! You can drag nearly any element to the place you want on your page. Simply click, drag and drop an element and hit the save button. You just moved an element. To which place you drag and drop the elements are fixed, as is the "Navbar" (navigation bar) and "Blog Posts". Hit the "Add a Page" element button to get a pop-up where you can select which kind of element you want to add. All pretty straightforward! One of the page elements is AdSense, more of that to be found here. (Link in future)

An example of my Layout:

Fonts and colors
This doesn't deserve a detailed explanation. No way you can't figure out what you can do here! All colors of your page to change in a few clicks.

Edit HTML
For those who know HTML this is a pretty interesting page. Here you can edit the HTML of every page. It's handy for stuff like inserting meta tags and creating your own layout. For the experts only, I'd say. As I'm not a HTML expert use Google (found at the top of this page) to search for tips and tricks on the HTML editing. Besides HTML editing you can upload a downloaded or saved template as well. Make sure to save your current layout when you are toying around.

Pick new template
For those who don't like their current template and prefer a premade template above to make their own using the "Edit HTML" tab there is this page. Some nifty designs, just like the one used on this page are available for free!

Next step
Okay you are now able to edit your layout. Next you will get ready to set up AdSense on your blog! Please proceed to the next step: "Adding AdSense" (Please come back later, this has not been written yet).

AdSense money

This is going to be a little new experiment. I found out that the keyphrase "AdSense money" isn't extremely battled for. Well to say, it's quite battled for, but there is NO page called "AdSense money". It's an extremely interesting keyphrase to rank up high with in Google, so when this page does. It will be easier to make money with AdSense. It will be one step closer to get rich with AdSense.

For your note the quality of this post isn't that high because AdSense money is just to gain visitors. Maybe you should experiment with it too, find a keyphrase you like to end up high with. Put it in the title, like "AdSense money" here, use it a few times in an article and wait till Google indexes your page. If the keyphrase isn't that competitive you should end up high and gain extra visitors so you can make more money (AdSense revenue). For the last time here are two more keyphrases:

  • AdSense money
  • money AdSense
Hope to have informed you enough and that this will succeed.

Update on "Weird happening"

Lately I reported Google AdSense hadn't credited me for a few clicks. This has been resolved now and I have been awarded a few dollar cents. So, no worries.

Cheers.

Adgridwork experiment

Last week I added a advertisement block of adgridwork.com to the blog for extra visitors, so far I have received 0(!!) visitors of that source. A logical step is to remove it from my site again, which I will.

Hope to experiment a bit better soon.

Weird happening

Yesterday I received 3 clicks on ads after people had searched with the Google search bar on top of this page. However, somehow I didn't receive ANY revenue out of this. It just states revenue 0.00 for yesterday.

Maybe it was someone who clicked 3 times on the same ad and therefor making it look to Google as invalid clicks. That's the only thing I can come up with. If anyone had a relevant happening please let me know by commenting.

Scheduled posts

From now on almost every post will be scheduled to be posted later on. This will make sure most of the time a fresh post is available on the main page and will help me scheduling my own time efficiently. Also a blog that's updated every day or at a higher rate will most likely rank higher in search engines and on blog sites.

Any post posted at :00 or :30 will most likely be scheduled. I'm going to try to make a post at least once a day and the regular posting time will be 7:00 am.

This post has been scheduled too and should arrive at 7:00 am at Saturday.
